Weekend Picks - 6/15/12

It's fun to find new and interesting sites on-line. Here are a few of my latest finds. I hope you enjoy them!

1) How about this cute Campfire Cake from Family Fun? It would make a great cake for an outdoor summer birthday party!

2) Okay...this is one that I have GOT to try! How about preserving grapes by turning them into a recipe for Spiced Grape Butter from Frugally Sustainable? AWESOME!!!

3) Here's a great page from Apartment Therapy with information and instructions on how to clean and season old, rusty, cast-iron pans. Invaluable if your a fan of cast-iron...which I am! :)

4) Here's a yummy looking recipe for Pineapple Jam from Coleen's Recipes. This is another one that I can't wait to try!

5) How about trying your hand at homemade Pita Bread? (I love pita bread stuffed with chicken ranch salad - grilled strips of chicken that have been chilled, topped with fresh green lettuce salad, tomatoes, a bit of fat-free, shredded cheese, and ranch dressing.) This recipe is comes to us from Under The High Chair.

6) And, finally, I haven't owned a dishwasher since leaving Blue Springs, but, if I did, you better believe I'd be checking out these 16 homemade dishwasher detergent recipes from Tipnut!

Weekend Picks - 5/25/12

I've had the pleasure of visiting several lovely sites this week and would like to share a few of my favorite posts with you. If you find time over this long, holiday weekend you might want to check them out

1) These healthy homemade fish sticks from The Prairie Homestead look absolutely delicious! I can't wait to try them!

2) The Thankful Homemaker takes us through one room at a time to declutter, organize, and beautify one month at a time. This month she is working in the kitchen. While it's true I came in a little late, I have run copies of her articles, am making my plan, and plan on joining in!

3) How about trying your hand at making your own homemade cheese crackers? Eliza over at Happy Simple Living shows us just how to do that! This is another recipe that I can't wait to try! I'm sure the grandlittles will love them!

4) I love this site anyway, and think I've share links from here before, but this beautiful watercolor block nature journal idea from Handbook Of Nature Study takes the cake! I absolutely love this idea and can't wait to incorporate it into my own nature journaling experiences!

5) And, last, but not least, how about a recipe for Mom's Raised Doughnuts from Just A Pinch Recipe Club? Don't these look delicious?
