Wisdom Wednesday - August 11 - Proverbs 11:22

"As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion." (Proverbs 11:22)

That brings a pretty picture to mind, doesn't it? Maybe something like this...



Just think how ridiculous it would it be for a farmer to ring his hogs' noses with gold and jewels! Yet, that is exactly what this verse in Proverbs 11 likens a woman without discretion to no matter how pretty she is!



Discretion - "prudent, circumspect, and judicious (that is, having good or well-reasoned judgment) in one's words or actions; being modestly unobtrusive in behavior."

Discretion, Ladies! 

Let each of us invite the Lord to reveal our indiscretions as we allow Him to heal us and help us in using Biblical discretion at all times.
