Thursday Things - Three Firsts

The first (and maybe the only) taste of morel mushroom this spring. The boys found it when mowing this week.

Fried Morel Mushroom

A summer favorite has returned! I spotted the first dickcissel of the year on my way to work this morning!

Dickcissel

The first bloom of one of the new irises that a visitor at the park gave me last year. It's so pretty! And there are three more varieties yet to discover!

New Iris

Short, sweet, and to the point! That's all for today!

Until next time...

    1. Hello, dear Phoebe! The dickcissels live in South America, but come spend their summers with us...on the their nesting grounds on the tallgrass prairies of the Midwest. They are beautiful little birds, but it is their cheerful song that gets me. I'd like to encourage you to google it and take a listen for yourself. So sweet! Thanks for stopping in and may many blessings be yours! <3

    1. Don't be too jealous, Becky. I only had that one, single morel this year. Maybe next year we'll both be more fortunate to have a whole mess of them! <3
