Happy Homemaker Monday - August 5, 2019

Greetings, Dear Ladies! And Happy Monday! 💗 How was your week and weekend?

Our week was full and our weekend even fuller. We celebrated a lot of birthdays and I found no time to devote to extra blogging. I don't know that this week or next will be any better, but I'm sure enjoying spending extra time with family and friends! 💗

Granddaughter Mercy
I took this little monkey out for her birthday lunch on Wednesday. For her party that evening she wanted a castle cake AND a farm animal birthday. Her mom did an amazingly beautiful job of combining the two, seemingly unrelated, things into one fantastic birthday wish-come-true! It was great! 🐄🐏🐓🏰🐎🐐🐖

Now it's time to look ahead to another week, so let's get started, shall we?

Right now I am...

... Enjoying a glass of iced tea while taking a break and working on this post. I have the next to the last load of laundry in and most of my housework done.

On the breakfast plate...

... This morning I had two fried eggs on a bed of sauteed zucchini with cheese.

The weather...

... Hot and muggy. Right now it's 88 degrees with a heat index of 94 and it looks like more of the same with storm chances
all week.

On my reading pile...

Haven't had much time to read this week, so am still pretty much where I was last week. Am reading Interpreting Our Heritage by Freeman Tilden, On The Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder, and The 'I Can Do This' Diet by Dr. Don Colbert.

On the menu this week...

Monday - Turkey burgers and oven fries
Tuesday - Stuffed shells, Italian sausage, green beans, and homemade French bread
Wednesday - Roasted chicken breasts, baked potatoes and corn on the cob
Thursday - Breakfast for supper (French toast or bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits)
Friday - Broiled salmon, baked sweet potatoes, and salad 🐟
Saturday - Dh's night to cook
Sunday - Leftovers

On my 'to do' list...

- Monday - HHM post, plan the week ahead, home blessing, laundry
- Tuesday - Clean out the fridge, do a food inventory, refill the bird feeders, enjoy a long-overdue visit with my friend, Hannah
- Wednesday - Clear another tote or two out of the carport, celebrate our oldest son's birthday
- Thursday - Take granddaughter, Ruth, out for a belated birthday lunch (her birthday was Sunday)
- Friday - Work
- Saturday - Work
- Sunday - Church; work in the afternoon

In the craft basket...

... just continuing to keep up with the temperature afghan.

Looking forward to this week...

... visiting my friend, Hannah, who I don't think I've seen in...like...two years...(is that even possible???)...and celebrating more birthdays! (August is a BIG birthday month in our family!!!) 💗🎉
🎂🎈🎉🍨

Something I enjoyed watching this week...

This isn't the best photo because it's taken through two window glasses and a screen, but I greatly enjoyed watching this fledgling cardinal being fed seed from the feeder just outside my office window by it's mother ...

From the camera...

    1. Yes, it is, Jodi! There have been times that I wasn't sure that I was going to like the color combinations, but as the afghan progresses, I think it's turning out quite lovely! As for the 2020 planner, if you decide to go with it, I think you'll be quite pleased. I've used Sue Hooly's Daily Planners for years now and I absolutely love them! Blessings for a great week, my friend! <3
