Gooseberry Falls

We were on the lower falls of the Gooseberry River.

Split Rock Lighthouse

Split Rock Lighthouse is one of the most beautiful lighthouses in the world!

The lighthouse sits on the edge of a cliff overlooking Lake Superior.

Minnesota Vacation 2010

Ely, Minnesota is my second home. As a child my parents and I, as well as various other family members (including my grandmother) and friends, visited there once...sometimes twice...a year from the time I was 7-years-old until I was well into I was well into my 20's. All of my children have visited there (this was Tony's first time) and, now, even some of my grandchildren. That makes 5 generations that have enjoyed the beauty that only the north country can provide. I thought I'd share a few of my favorite photos of this year's vacation.
This photo was taken at Shagawa Lake...the lake I 'grew up' on. That's the fish house in the background there where my dad always cleaned his daily catch.
