Master To-Do List and Menu Plan Monday - March 20, 2023

Happy (beautiful and windy) First-Day-of-Spring! How are you celebrating? How was your week and weekend? My week here was good, fun, and full of sweet shinanigans!

The early part of my week was spent cleaning and preparing for the gatherin' o' the clan on Friday; on Wednesday Amber and I went shopping for the food.

I worked at the park Thursday; Thursday evening Aaron, Amanda, and Alysia arrived.

Friday was the big day and, leapin' leprechauns, did we ever have a barrel of fun! I  didn't get many photos of the day's festivities, but I did get a few of the kids and grands that were able make it. Here are some of the ones I did get....

We had a grand fare of corned beef, cabbage, baked potatoes, and, thanks to Amber, three beautiful Emerald Isle Cakes (since I had to work on Thursday she offered to make them and I am extemely grateful! That was a lot of work!). 🍀

In addition to the kids and grands, my cousin and friends from work joined us. That evening we had a lesson in Scottish country dancing on the lawn.

We started out pretty terrible, but were just starting to get the hang of it by the end. Needless to say, we need a lot of practice if we're ever to get really good at it. It's a lot of fun though and great exercise!

Friday morning, before the shinanigans started, I ended up having a teledoc appointment with my doctor (actually it was one of her nurse practioners). Anyway, she diagnosed broncitus and called me in perscriptions for antibiotic, steroids, and an inhaler. Hopefully, I will kick this crud before school groups and hikes start next week at work.

Saturday morning, Alysia went to work with me and stayed until Aaron and Amanda came to pick her up before heading back to Kansas City. She got to see the bison, helped me put the flags out, and clean the building. After that we played a round of nature bingo. By the time it was over, her parents were on their way with her lunch, so, I took an early lunch myself and visited with them before they took off. It was great having them down for a couple of days again. I always enjoy it.

Okay...that's more than enough chit-chat for one day. Let's take a look at the week ahead...shall we?

    1. It's nice to see you, too, Billie Jo! I hope that you've found this first day of spring to have been absolutely lovely! Thanks for stopping by to say, "Hello!" Blessings!

  2. Happy first day of spring and I need spring so badly right now. New life new hope. Looks like you guys had a ball. I also hand made a to do list this morning and I only have two things left so proud of me.

    1. Happy first day of spring to YOU! And, yes, I hear you! I'm so happy that spring has finally arrived! New life, new hope! Beautiful! That's great that you've checked all but two things off your list (and have probably completed it by now)! Good job! I'm proud of you, too! Thanks for stopping in! Blessings!

  3. Oh no, I'm sorry your still battling bronchitis! Hope the winds of spring helps knock that out. The iherb stuff you mentioned really seemed to do the trick with the stuff I was battling (though I did take a few puffs from the inhaler I've been hoarding since 2019, a pediatrician told me that stuff has a long expiration date) Your St. Patrick's Day looked like so much fun. Hope you have a healthy and happy spring week!

    1. Yes, I'm so much better, but still having just a wee bit of trouble getting past it. The allibiotic is great! I'm sure with a little more time it would have went ahead and knocked it on out, but with school groups and hikes coming up next week I figured I better tackle it with bigger guns. The natural stuff always seems to take just a little bit longer. St. Patrick's Day was a BLAST! We had so much fun and I so look forward to the day that, as a family, we get that Scottish country dancing down and can actually do it! You have a healthy, happy spring, too, Jean! Blessings, my friend!

  4. I hope you enjoyed this 1st day of Spring! We had some nice sunshine - but still buried in snow here. I did let in some fresh air for a bit too. ;) Your Celtic meal and Scottish dance makes St Paddy's look like it was a lot of fun! I hope you have a very blessed week ahead. xo

    1. I did, Carrie! Yesterday was really nice...windy and a little cool...but plenty of sunshine and absolutely gorgeous! St. Patty's Day was a blast. I'll have to share the video that my son put together of the dancing. So much fun! You have a great rest of the week! Blessings! <3

  5. Ohhhh, did I see stuffed peppers???? Yum. Love how much fun you had and it was very cool to look through all the pictures!

    1. You did, indeed, see stuffed peppers, Ivy. Most of the time I turn them into more of a casserole than an actual "stuffed" pepper. I just spread the rice mixture in a casserole dish and lay the peppers cut in halves or quarters across the top. Either way it is good! Have a great evening, Ivy, and thanks for stopping by! :)
