30 Days of Thanksgiving - Day 14 - A Tiny Act of Kindness That Happened Years Ago

As I get the turkey out of the freezer and move it to the fridge to start thawing for Sunday's dinner, I am reminded, once again, of a Thanksgiving many years ago when I was struggling with many things, including trying to get a huge turkey in an oven roasting bag, when a friend just happened to drop by unexpectedly. My husband opened the door for her, as I hollered from the kitchen, "Come on in!" As she entered the kitchen she witnessed the struggle that I was having and she said, "Ohmygoodness! Here! Let me help!" She laid down whatever she had in her hands on the table and immediately rushed over to hold the oven roasting bag, while I wrestled the gigantic turkey into it. I've never forgotten that. It was such a small thing, but it still brings tears to my eyes every time I think about it...which is just about every Thanksgiving. That one tiny act of kindness...that one 'coming along side' in an hour (or moment) of need...meant more to me than anyone could ever know...and I'm still thankful for it!

What tiny acts of kindness do you still think about and remember?

Until next time,
~Rebecca
