Happy Homemaker Monday - July 29, 2019

It's Monday evening and I'm just now getting around to writing this post. We'll call it 'the late edition'.

Sunflower Growing In Our Backyard
How's everyone here? I hope you all had a nice week and weekend. Ours was good here. Have just been super busy with a lot going on.

I've had a full day and am trying to finish things up before bedtime, so I'm going to get right on into this post. Please join me as I link up with Sandra of Diary of a Stay At Home Mom and all the other lovely ladies that gather there on this week's Happy Homemaker Monday? 💗

Right now I am...

... working on this post and finishing up laundry.

On the breakfast plate...

... this morning I had a ham, egg, and cheese croissant from Casey's.

The weather...

... Hot. It's 8:00 p.m. and is 82 degrees with a heat index of 88.

On my reading pile...

Am reading Interpreting Our Heritage by Freeman Tilden, On The Banks of Plum Creek by Laura Ingalls Wilder, and The 'I Can Do This' Diet by Dr. Don Colbert.

On the menu this week...

Monday - Bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwiches
Tuesday - Breakfast for supper (French toast or bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits)
Wednesday - Baked chicken breast, baked potato with cottage cheese, peas and carrots
Thursday - Turkey burgers and oven fries
Friday - Broiled salmon, baked sweet potatoes, and salad 🐟
Saturday - Dh's night to cook
Sunday - Leftovers

On my 'to do' list...

- Monday - HHM post, plan the week ahead, home blessing, laundry
- Tuesday - Take a friend and family member grocery shopping
- Wednesday - Celebrate granddaughter, Mercy's, birthday 🎂
- Thursday - Take a friend to her hair appointment; work on projects around the house
- Friday - Work (Ozark Empire Fair) 🎡
- Saturday - Work; celebrate youngest son's birthday and daughter and son-in-law's anniversary
- Sunday - Church

In the craft basket...

... just keeping up with the temperature afghan.

Looking forward to this week...

... family celebrations and working the fair in Springfield.

Something I enjoyed watching this week...

... bison on parade at work...

    1. LOL! I have to admit, the BLT's tasted pretty good, Jodi! I need to get a new picture of the temperature afghan, but it's just more of the same...pumpkin pumpkin, pumpkin, ranch red, pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin. LOL! And with all those really hot days with heat indexes in the triple digits? Not a single day with actual temps 99 degrees or higher. Thus, not a single row of cranberry yet. I guess we'll have to wait and see what August brings. LOL! Not that I'm complaining, of course! Hope you're having a great week! Blessings! <3

    1. Thanks, Evie! I love the native bees and they're so important to our food sources. What state do you live in? Hope you're having a great week! Blessings! <3

  3. Gorgeous sunflower! My little one in a pot has a bud but I'm waiting for it to actually bloom. Hope you have a wonderful time celebrating your granddaughter's birthday today. We drove right by signs for the Ozark Empire Fair over the weekend, were you there last weekend as well? Hope we didn't miss a chance to say "hello!". Hope you have a wonderful rest of your week!

    1. I love sunflowers, Jean. What kind of sunflower did you plant? We had a great time celebrating Mercy's birthday. She and I went out for lunch early, then, we attended her birthday supper and party in the evening. She had an awesome party theme. I will most likely share about that in my next HHM post. No, I wasn't working the fair last weekend. Some of the parks that are closer have to commit to more than one shift, but we're far enough away, that we only have to commit to one. I'll be working there tomorrow. Hope you're having a great week, too! Blessings! <3

    2. Super late replying on here. I'm not even sure what kind of sunflowers I planted. I just put a bunch of seeds (I should have thinned them out more) in a couple of Terra Cotta pots to see if I could keep the snails away from them.
