Wisdom Wednesday - Proverbs 10:7

"The memory of the just is blessed: but the name
of the wicked shall rot." (Proverbs 10:7)

Today marks the four-month anniversary of my husband's passing. I cherish his memory and praise the Lord for our many years together.

Until next time...

Wisdom Wednesday - Proverbs 3:5-8

"Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto
thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge
him, and he shall direct thy paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Since my husband's passing I've come to rely heavily on these verses on a daily basis. There is so much that I, indeed, do not understand and trusting in my Lord, and trusting Him to direct my path, is the only choice that I have.

In all our plans, decisions, and activities, we should acknowledge God as Lord and His sovereign will as our supreme desire.

Every day should be lived in a close, trusting relationship with God, always looking to Him for direction by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6).

When we do this, God promises to direct our paths, enabling us to make the right choice at every twist and turn.

Until next time...

Wisdom Wednesday - Proverbs 6:6-8

"Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest." (Proverbs 6:6-8)

In the midst of tough economic times and rising food costs what steps are you and yours taking to prepare for the coming winter?

and honour, and life." (Proverbs 22:4)

Wisdom Wednesday - August 25 - Proverbs 25

How are the words that you choose to speak? Are they 'fitly spoken'?

Proverbs 18:21 tells us that "life and death are in the power of the tongue." Therefore we should choose our words wisely.

Here are a few more verses from the book of Proverbs concerning our tongue and the words that roll off of it...

"A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit." (Proverbs 15:4)

"Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones." (Proverbs 16:14)

"The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook." (Proverbs 18:4)

Until next time...
